dell installed windows media player

Question

hi,i have a dell dimension 8400 p3.4 / 2gig ddr2 533mhz ram /geforce 6600gt 128mb/160gig sata/and i resently did a semantic restore when you startup your system and hit [ctrl+f11] at the same time until the restore screen appears,and all was good until like 7-9 days after when i was going to check on my internets home page to see if any upgrades had become available,i have the icon on my task bar with other icons but when i clicked on the 2wire icon a list pops up with different sites normal,i go to the home page site click its link and windows media player is opening it  or trying to but duh it cant,and i dont know how to resolve this i went to windows they said sence it was part of the dell package they needed to fix it,i tried to uninstall the media player so i could reinstall it but i cant uninstallit,even tried to reinstall my 2wire but media player thinks it should open it still and not only that application but some others as well,what could i have done this has never happened before in my years of pc exp what can i do help,oh and i asked 2wire they said well cant you just type in the site well duh yea but why is my desktop shortcut their if i cant use it i like it when it worked.whew thanks to anyone with advice

oh heck i should have searched just a little longer im a lamo i went into folder options checked file extensions and somehow media player was modified to an htm ext so i just hit restore and wow im back to normal.sorry for the premature post but maybe it will help someone.thanks

well yea i would have to agree with you on both accounts,english was not my best subject.thanks for the input i think.lol  naw really thanks,it did feel good finding and fixing my problem cause im no genuios geniuos genouse, not to smart..:smileyvery-happy:
