Dell local backup message to create restore disc

Hi everyone.

Hope this is the right place for this question...

I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's really necessary to create the restoration discs since I have got both the operating system and the drivers on separate DVDs when I purchased the computer. I keep getting a message from Dell Local backup to create these but I've been too chicken to tell it to stop bugging me but at the same time I don't want to have any more DVDs lying around than necessary.

Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I assume this is a new computer. The "make your own" manual restore disk requirement is new. Some new computers with this message were sent with the disks and some without. You can ignore the message if you have the os disk. But do make the System Image and Startup Repair disk in Backup and Restore. Those are not related to Dell DataSafe. Read THIS.

The computer is new-ish as I got it in December last year. I was planning to get a new USB-memory for the Startup repair, but geez it says it requires an 7gb one! Perhaps I'm a bit slow but that's still a quite large USB in my universe and unfortunately where I live, still quite expensive. Guess the option is to get some more DVDs for the piles lying around the house :)

Thank you for your answer!
