Dell Musicmatch Jukebox

Hi,    I'm having a problem with my cd drive so I put in a music cd to check the drive.

 

The Dell Jukebox by musicmatch v9 on the pc is crashes and is not responding.  I have to use the task manager to end it. 

 

I got out the blue Dell application cd and tried to reinstall it.  First of all my Inspiron 6000 wasn't listed in the model box. 

 

Then it said my computer has a newer version of musicmatch.  PC is version 9.  The Musicmatch version on the application cd is version 8.  So I didn't install it.

 

According to my notes a month after I got the computer (6/05) I had to ask Dell support for the application cds that were missing.  I think I was missing musicmatch on my pc, that's why I called for the cds.

 

If I orginally had v8 could I have somehow updated to v9?  So should I now install v8 and then be able to do an update?
