I'm having the same problem as the user above, except that I don't seem to have the Application/Dell Tools CD. I just got my computer, but the only Dell CD's I see are for the Easy CD Creator and one for reinstalling the Inspiron 8200 System Software.
I searched Dell's Knowledge base as you suggested, but it found nothing. Apparently you can’t search by number. Please test your response this time before you post.

As I followed these directions it stopped me mid-way and told me a version had already been detected that was installed and that I should uninstall before proceeding. Do I have to take that step - or if it's already installed, why do I continue to get the installation message prompts?
If the installation did not go properly then you will receive errors that say that the program is not installed. You should try the uninstall to repair the problem and then reinstall the program.
My new Dell 8250 was delivered on Friday and I keep getting the same message. I looked through all of the discs and I do not have the Dell Tools Disc you are referring to. Can I obtain a copy or will I be able to download what I need from this website?
If you believe that one of the disks that you should have gotten was not included then you should contact Dell technical support for resolution of this shortage. They will be able to inventory this and tell you if you should have received a disk that you did not.
I had the same issue after a reformat. I was playing around with the applications CD, I used the drop down menu on the left under system model, changed it to Dimension 4550 and there they were, Image Expert and Paint Shop Pro
i dont know if this will help, i just recently installed the dell image studio and paint shop pro, from the c.d by putting in the drive, going to (my computer) opening the drive the c.d's in, all of the folders on the c.d are displayed, i just opened the ones i wanted, probaly to easy but thats all i did, hope it helps

Thank you for using the Dell|Talk forum.
The software should be installed. The disk you need to install it is the Applications - Dell Tools CD.
The link below will walk you through installing it.
