I have a D810 and tried upgrading to the latest quickset (v8.1).  When it tries to start, I get the following application error:

I have killed all possible running processes (left the bare minimum) and it sill will not start.  Uninstalled/reinstalled - still no start.  Removed and went back to v7.1.12 and it starts.

XP Pro, 2 GB Ram, ATI X600...

Anyone have a solution for this?
TIA...

I just tried to install this on a D610 and had the exact same problem.

That being the case, why is this download listed for the D810's and D610's?

I have the same problem with my D620.

I am little bit annoyed and dissaopinted. I downloaded all  new drivers and programs last week and I has problem with graphic driver and also with QuickSet.

Are programs tested before release? I thought yes, but now I am not sure :-(

I'm having issues with quickset not auto-sensing wired/wireless which is why I'm looking for an upgrade in the first place.

Too bad Dell doesn't seem to monitor this forum...

I had the same problem with the 8.0 version and my D610 with XP. I disabled McAfee and reinstalled and it worked perfectly.

I am using 8.5.0i also so I would say you have a high chance.

no go..I disabled the on access scanner and hips firewall then installed quickset...still fails...I killed every process running except those that would cause a shutdown and it still would not start...

did you remove mcafee or kill all processes prior to installing?  does it still run for you with mcafee's on access scanner running after install?

Please provide your steps...I'm stumped here.

too bad dell won't pipe in here and offer some suggestions...
