Dell QuickSet - Not Always On Top

I'm using Dell QuickSet 7.2.13 on Vista Home Premium. The on-screen display for volume and mute (among other things) are not always on top like they are in Windows XP versions. This is really annoying as it kind of defeats the purpose of the OSD altogether. It also adds a taskbar position when it's on screen. When it's hidden under a window, you can click the taskbar item to bring it on top.. but like I said, it defeats the purpose. Anyone know of a later version that this? Dell has been known to not post the latest version on the downloads site. I have an XPS M1710.

There is a newer version here:

But be aware that QuickSet is for an Inspiron 6400/E1505.   It might not work correctly with your system, but if you wanted to try it, go for it.

Yeah, this version doesn't fix that either.. The popups still get hidden under other windows. The popups also don't appear unless a change is actually made. For example, if volume is all the way up, and you press the volume up button, it won't display unless you press vol down.

That's my problem also, and the fact that it won't stay in the same position after booting up. It always ends up in the upper left side in XP and now in Vista, no matter where I drag it to. It's a worthless OSD, so why doesn't Dell rectify this?

Has anyone ever found a solution to this to get the OSD to be always-on-top?

Thanks,
Scott
