Dell Support Center (DSC)

Yesterday when I started my PC up DSC automatically went into update & upgrade, I had no choice in the matter.

Now whenever I reboot there is DSC in my system tray. I went into DSC settings to disable notifications. There is no other option to remove application from start up. No change when I rebooted.

Went into msconfig and diabled "dscactivate" but that did nothing also.

Only other thing I can see in msconfig that might be related is "ECenter" - command for it is:
c:\dell\E-Center\EULALauncher.exe   but I am not sure so dont want to touch it.

It's rude enough that this program upgraded without me having the option to say no, let alone the annoyance of it being in the system tray....There isnt even an "exit" option when I right click.

Any help is much appreciated.

I cannot for the life of me understand why  DSC 2.0 has no exit/scheduling option - the old 3.xx versions did.  If it acts up, you shouldn't have to mess around with msconfig to troubleshoot it.  That's just badware.

Makes me kind of paranoid too - gotta assume there's a reason Dell and/or SupportSoft (who wrote the thing) wanted it that way.  It's awfully "Big Brothery", if you know what I mean - road to you-know-where paved with good intentions and all that....

Totally agree Alexandra......if they are not prepared to give me total control over how the software works then I dont want it......is gone now :smileyvery-happy:
