Dell Support Center
Been having problems with my wifes computer shutting down lately so I used Dell Direct Connect to get them to resolve the problem.. The problem was with the Dell Support Center.. The technician did a few things I didn't understand, then removed and reinstalled the Dell Support Center.. Now everything seems to work BUT the Dell Support Center has no Service Tag Data , Service Code Data, or Express Service Code Data.. and it is unable to find it..I have restarted it several time with no luck..
The Dell technician reflashed the Bios but when this happened, our chat/direct connect session was over.. No different results with the reflash.. Anyone have an idea on how to get the Dell Support Center to obtain this data? Maybe the best answer is just to uninstall the Support Center, but it is handy to use it to get in touch with Dell..

After removing almost everything from my startup menu and finall flashing the Bios..the same problem existed.. The Dell Tech Support technician promised to call me back a day later to finish correcting this problem... We set up a time but he never called back.. I tried one more time to reinstall the upgraded Dell Support Center with no luck.. Just won't load correctly (takes forever and won't load system data)..So... as recommended above, I removed and trashed the entire program.. Now everything works fine and even faster.. Can't understand why Dell would issue an updated program with obvious faults / flaws and expect the customer to try to make it work.. Reading from the number of posts, many others also had the same experience with Dell Support Center.. Maybe a conflict with NIS?
