Don't try to contact the fee-based software support. Contact customer service and request that they send you the CDs for the software that was originally installed on your system, including the OS (you'll eventually want that one, too). Many other owners have had to do this.
Thanks for your info, however it appears the only number availble to assist with software is a fee based service which I understand is $90. Don't think I should have to pay for help for a problem of Dell's making. Any othe suggestions?
Thanks. That sounds logical. The only problem is that I have been all over the Dell website and cannot find a phone number for customer service. It's either specific(non-software) support only, order status, fee based aupport etc.. Dell is very good at keeping you in the dark about how to contact them for this type of problem. This is now getting ridiculous. I was warned about Dell support but didn't listen.
Do you happen to have that customer service number?

Sorry about first one I gave you, I did not look to see if toll free. The ones in the manual are TOLL FREE

Barb,
Thanks for the help and those numbers.
That's why these message boards are so good. They are full of people a lot smarter than me.
Thanks again.
