By any chance do you have the "Hide inactive icons" checked.

Right click on the taskbar and select properties.

See if the item is checked.  If it is, then just uncheck it.

Bay Wolf,
You're welcome. :)

A lot of attitude over a "minor issue".

There's absolutely NO need to get snotty. Bay Wolf is one of the best people on these forums so if you want help, be polite. Otherwise take your silly attitude elsewhere!

Did you click the Customize botton the the Toolbar properties screen and make sure the icons you're whining about are set to "always show"?

Ron,  thank you for your kind words.

I admit that I missed the last statement in the OP's post.

Since he said "Its a minor issue but one that has always bugged me", it can't be too big of a problem.

i found the solution in the Microsoft newsgroup XP forum.  There is a better informed membership there who also read the postings before they respond.  Novel idea......

Once again you bring the attitude.  I was man enough to admit that I missed something in your post.  Too bad you are not big enough to accept that.

And for such a minor issue, what a tantrum you do throw.  :smileysurprised:

Have fun in the Microsoft forums.  Bye Bye.

perhaps if you all spent more time reading and less time whinning, you might understand the problem and could then at least acknowledge its too sophisticated for you and then refer folks to a knowlegeable location on the web such as the Microsoft XP newsgroups or many many others.  Why waste our time?  It obvious you dont mind wasting your own.

With that kind of attitude, you'll never get any help on this forum again.

BYE!

Since your you are not mature enough to recognize those that take the time to come onto this forum and try to assist you the best they can, whether its not up to what you were hoping for, being rude with your comments, then you are not going to make any friends on this forum nor worth the time to assist again.

It would be very helpful, if you can post the solution, as it will help other members with the same problem.

Bev.
