'Devices and Printers' in Control Panel doesn't recognise anything.
I have 5 user accounts on my Dell inspiron 1545 running Windows 7. I'm trying to reinstall my printer, HP all-in one Deskjet 1050. In my user account, administrator, the 'devices & printer' prog keeps searching indefinately, yet in the 4 other user accounts finds items within seconds. I've tried using the internal drivers and also the original disc. I notice that the other 4 all find Devices,mouse and PC, and printers and faxes, fax, microsoft xps document writer and HPdeskjet 1050. It printed a test page ok. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Nick.

Nick,
Run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print job(s) from the queue, then restart your computer.
I would recommend to make sure the printer is not usb cable connected to this computer.
Start, control panel, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
This should give you a clean start with installing the printer.
Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
Since you did not mention what the other operating systems are, try reading...

Went into owner Network>Rick-PC and ran printer trouble shooter and got this
error. Thanks
