Dimension E521 Upgrade

Question

Has anyone with a DELL Dimension E521 received their Vista upgrade yet?   Just wondering because I redeemed my upgrade on the first of December and have not yet received a shipping notification.   One nore thing. Weren't we supposed to be getting the upgrade in 6-8 weeks of the Vista release? It's been nearly 8 weeks already.

It may be awhile yet. I redeemed my upgrade 11/29/06. Various issues that are occuring:

properly working drivers?

usb issues?

faulty bios update that has been pulled? (issued to correct usb problems)

booting issues?

no operating system found at start-up?

sound problems?

Take your pick

Been trying to get answer. No luck so far.

If they have to manufacture disks with a new BIOS then it could cause a delay for E521 owners.  I'd understand the delay then.    Dell: It'd be nice if you'd communicated this to us.

It's probably because of the amount of money spent on purchasing an E521. If money wasn't a consideration I would of got an XPS, but then I would still be in the same boat. It's a shame Dell treats their customers according to the amount of money spent for their systems. I guess it didn't matter back in November when my purchase helped their 4th quarter profits.

That is when I registered too. We must be very bad people in the eyes of the Dell Gods. We don't even get to complain like others do. If someone with an E521 does get notified I hope they post it here. I know I will but I am not going to hold my breath. I just wonder why it is taking so long.

I just got a shipment notification from DHL. My upgrade will be here tomorrow.
