directx 9.0c PLEASE HELP

Question

FIRST OF ALL I AM NOT VERY GOOD WITH COMPUTORS BUT I REALLY NEED SOME HELP WITH INSTALLING DIRECTX  I AM TRING TO PLAY SIMS 2 AND IT KEEPS TELLING ME THAT THE GAME  CANNOT FIND DIRECT X ON MY PC I KNOW THAT IT IS THERE  I DOWNLOADED IT FROM THIS WEB SIGHT  AM I MAKING ANY SINCE MAYBE I NEED TO UNINSTALL TO REINSTALL BUT I AM NOT SURE HOW TO DO THAT EITHER THANKS IN ADVANCE

If you downloaded and saved the file to your hard drive, you can just double click on it to install it. Close any open windows (items showing in the main taskbar) before doing that.

you could try going to the microsoft website, 'downloads', and downloading directx 9c.. when you click 'download', to download directx 9c, select 'open' as opposed to 'save'..   http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a9b6820-bfbb-4799-9908-d418cdeac197&displaylang=en   also, you could try this: go to 'start'/'run', and type 'dxdiag'.. when 'dxdiag' opens, it should tell you if you already have directx 9c.. you can also look through the report to see if any problems are reported..
