Disable paging executive? Help...

Since I'm always looking for something to tweak in XP, I came across the "disable paging executive" registry entry.  Apparently, if enabled, this key will force the kernel to stay in RAM as opposed to using a page file on the hard disk.  Since my RAM is on the fast side, I decided to give this a try.

I rebooted, and opened Task Manager.  With disable paging executive enabled, my system was actually utilizing more of the page file than without it enabled.  I'm a bit confused.

What's everyone's opinion on this and disable paging executive in general? Does anyone have any other performance tweaks for XP?

Tried it a few years ago, gave me all kinds of memory errors, turned it back on.
