Disc Defrag and Disc Clean-Up

Question

I am unable to run disc clean-up or disc defragment on my computer with Windows ME.  Disc cleanup comes up with an error message saying that it has had to restart x number of times and never progresses.  Disc defrag stays on 0%.  Do I need to reinstall ME or is there something else I should be doind? Thanks Aliflem

Did you try to run these utilities in Safe Mode?

Thanks for that.  I'll give it a try.  How do I put my computer into Safe mode? Thanks Aliflem
