Does anyone know if there has been any problems with installing and running  Roxio Creator 9 if I already have Sonic Record Now (Dell installed) on my Dimension 8400 with XP running? I vaguely remember something but I could be wrong.

There can be conflicts with Roxio V9 because of other versions installed.  My E510 came with Roxio and Sonic programs and Sonic DLA.  I uninstalled Sonic DLA as there can only be one packet writing program installed and Roxio V9 installs "drag to disc", which is a packet writing program.  I thought that uninstalling the DLA would be all that was required and installed Roxio V9.  It worked for a while and then one day I tried to run Roxio V9 and it gave me a message that my "trial" had expired.  As it turned out the preinstalled Roxio/Sonic was causing the problem.  I had to uninstall the Roxio/Sonic and Roxio V9, restart Windows and reinstall Roxio V9.
