Remember you may need to re-install programs for them to work if they were installed after the reestore point you reverted to. Also read some of these fixes for IE errors, may help: http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/canotofd.htm
Try lowering checking your security settings. See if security options are checked. Seems it is secure sites you are having issues with. Some secure sites also need cookies to identify with you.

Will a restore help if spyware is the problem?
Right now I can't get to my banks web site. The page loads saying "done" and it's blank.
