Sallie, These are Active X Controls that can be reinstalled by visiting the Symantec site when doing an online scan. Any Downloaded program files that have been deleted will be refreshed with new ones when you go to the site. You will get a prompt to reinstall the the Active X Control when you visit the site. You may also go to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files and choose the file if it is still there and right click on the file and choose update.

Thank you.

I have followed your instructions. Please clarify. Is it a good idea to delete these files on a regular basis and just redownload as needed?

Rarely is it necessary to delete these files. I have only seen in one occasion when one had to be updated in 4 years and that was a vulnerability with an Active X with the Online Symantec Virus Scanner. Beware of Active X Controls from unsafe sites, they can contain malware.
