driver_power_state_failure

Same problem here on a Dell M6600.  I loaded Win8 64-bit over Win7 64-bit and removed conflict programs Windows identified before the load.  It has been this way since November 2012.  I thought it was video drivers, but even the latest drivers did not help.

Same with mine DELL M6600 - Windows 8 x64 pro with MC.

After BSOD and reboot, nvidia quadro 4000m board seems not fisically installed - BIOS reports no nvidia card installed.

This issue is resolved with total shut down and restart - BIOS reports nvidia installed.

Already changed by dell support USB 2.0 system board, motherboard and nvidia quadro 400m board. still continues.

Please help.

Latest drivers installed from dell, nvidia driver installed from nvidia.

Same issue in Windows 7 ultimate x64 as well.

Digging up an old thread here.

I have the same issue with my Dell M6600 with an Nvidia Quadro 4000m card.  The issue appears to be optimus related, as it only happens when the Nvidia card is used.

Anybody else find a solution to this?

Hi sandy09sk,

What is the operating system installed on your computer (Windows 7/8)?
Since when you are facing this issue?
Did you add any software or hardware in your computer?

Open Device Manager (press and hold Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc) and check if any device is showing under Other Devices.

I would suggest you to run the Dell Diagnostics to check the hardware functionality. Power off the computer -> restart the computer, press 'F12' key on the Dell logo -> Select ‘Diagnostics’ from the boot menu.

Hi sandy09sk,

Thank you for the response. Did you check Device Manager? Also, do you leave the computer in sleep mode or shut down when not in use?

Try the Online Diagnostics and see if it helps. Choose Symptom -> Blue Screen Analyzer. Based upon the results of this analysis, you may choose to run the trouble-shooter to fix these errors.

Let me know the findings.

Hi sandy09sk,

You may format the laptop, it might help.

However, before that try updating the AMD drivers from the following link http://dell.to/183GAyq

Also, share a screenshot of Device manager, if possible.

If updating the drivers doesn't help, then you may format the laptop.

Digging up an old thread here. I have the same issue with my DELL XPS 8500 Windows 8.1 but I have a NVidia 660 card. This started after updating BIOS and drivers from Dell. Bluescreen Diagnostic on Dell Support website did not solve the problem. Anybody else find a solution to this?
