Driver Problem... I think

Okay, long story short: Boss's computer (Dimension 2300 and e770s) was infected with coolwebsearch, problem fixed when I reinstalled xp. After installing both service packs, the screen went stupid and would only display at 640x480 with 16 colors, or 800x600 with 16 colors. When I open device manager, I have yellow question marks next to "multimedia audio controller",  "Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller" and "Video Controller (VGA compatible)". When looking at the properties of each of them, the device status says "the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)" I tried reinstalling the drivers, but i need to be connected to the internet, but I cant without the resolution of the computer set to 800x600 with at least 256 colors (according to netzero). Can anyone help?

I tried downloading the generic driver, but it says "for all systems on windows 95, 98 and 2000". I am running xp. Anyways, I did try following the instructions for 2000, but when I got to the monitor tab, "properties" was grayed out. any suggestions?

You need to install the drivers from Dell. Use the driver CD from Dell or download the drivers from Dell Download Center.
