You need to install any and all chipset drivers before anything else. That will probaby take care of what you posted.

Hi @BODYQ
You need to head out to MSI.com to get the drivers. Install chipset drivers first [Last in the list] then download from the last to the top. If you have a custom built system, you should have a DVD with the Motherboard, using which you can install all the drivers.
www.msi.com/.../Z87-G45-GAMING.html;Win8.1 64
Please note: I have gone an extra mile to get the drivers for you custom built system. We support only Dell systems in this forum.
For your video card - use - www.nvidia.com/.../en-us
Apologies for the late response, been busy..

I am working on a Vostro 230 running Windows 7.
The Ethernet Controller drivers I have tried are not successful.
These are the hardware IDs for that device.
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1691&SUBSYS_043E1028&REV_01
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1691&SUBSYS_043E1028
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1691&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1691&CC_0200
I can see activity on the when wire when I connect to the network.
A wireless adapter continues to work reasonably.
Any assistance welcomed with unspeakable gratitude.
