drivers for Win XP

Question

Hi,   I have couple of dumb questions.  I just purchased a Dell Vostro 200 in XP Home last month.  I am going to upgrade to XP Pro.  My questions are:   1.  Do you prefer to do a clean installation of XP Pro or just install XP Pro on top of XP Home? 2.  If you do a clean installation, are the drivers for XP Pro same as XP Home which can be found on the resource disk(s)?   Thanks for your time.   HN

A clean install is usually the best, but there are so little differences between Home and Pro, you could go either way.  Drivers are the same. . . What are you needing in Pro that you do not have with Home?

Hi Rich,   Thanks for the quick respond.  I am installing XP Pro on the computer just for PVR.  I was told XP Pro is better for PVR.  That is the reason for this installation.   Thnaks for your time.

There is no advantage to using Pro for that . . you can save some time and money by just using Home.
