Thanks..i searched for my drivers by just punching in the model, not the service tag...i have the list of drivers..My question is, should i download all of them to a flashdrive and then install on my computer? or just the recommended ones and urgent ones...

Also, none of the audio drivers are recommended..i dont understand why not, wont you have no sound it you dont install these?

The Dim2400 uses the following drivers:

  • Intel 845GV chipset driver
  • Intel Extreme Integrated Video Driver
  • ADI 1981b integrated audio driver
  • Broadcom 10/100 Integrated NIC driver
  • Broadcom Advance Control Suite
If you have added anything to the system (e.g., video or sound card) you would need to get the appropriate driver for that as well.

Sorry for being a N00b...so i got my product key and punched it in and it came up with 11 drivers instead of 72..that i could deal with, so i just saved em all onto my flashdrive and when i get home, im gonna plug in my flash drive and see where that takes me...

Thanks for the quick replies!

If you get the wrong modem driver you will not cause any problems with the computer.  At worst, it will install but not recognize the modem, and thus not work.  It should, however, tell you that it failed to find the correct hardware and abort the install (unless you have the correct driver).
