Dumprep.exe 100% CPU usage

Question

Lately when I have a program that won't close properly and I get the non-responsive program message and choose to 'end it now',  the process 'dumprep.exe' begins and takes up 100% of my cpu usage (occasionally dipping down to 90%) and continues until I end the process through Task Manager. I know that 'dumprep.exe' is the reporting process for MS, but is there a way to disable this reporting so that it doesn't bog down my pc?   Dim8300 3.0 Ghz HT (Prescott) 2Gb RAM WinXP Pro

jrwou1, Go to Start|Control Panel|System|Advanced tab. Click the 'Error reporting' button and on the dialog that opens check the 'Disable error reporting' box.
