Duplicate Homepage

Does anyone know why each time I start up my computer and open the browser my home page comes up in duplicate (two pages).  I have checked settings in internet options and they appear correct.  I am running Vista on a Dell E521.  Anyone help??

IE7 has the ability to assign multiple homepages in separate tabs. The easiest way to fix this is by going to the page you want, then clicking on the pull-down menu next to the "home" icon. Choose "add or change homepage". Then choose "use this web page as your only homepage".

That does not work either ----- after I do as you suggested and reboot -- the two homepages re-appear.  Any other ideas?

If you have internet security software installed, it can sometimes prevent you from changing your homepage in order to protect you from certain malware changing the homepage without your knowledge. You may want to look at settings for the software you're running and temorarily diable them to see if that allows you to change the homepage.

In I.E. under the TOOLS look in the one for Internet Options in the box the shows you home page make sure there is only one web site listed IE will open every web site within that box every time you start it up.

Thanks for your reply Monguse ----- I have always had only one home page entered in the box you referenced.  I surrender, LOL.  I can only follow the tools Vista provides to get the job done -- when they dont work ==== OH Well !!  Perhaps SP -1 will get them out of the Beta phase. :smileywink:
