Run the Windows Upgrade Advisor and see what hardware/software will not work with Vista. Remove everything that will cause problems before installing Vista. If your 9200 is less than 2 years old and has 1 Gig of ram or more, plus a big hard drive & good video card, it should run Vista OK. Your dvd drive might even work better under Vista, but if the advisor sees a problem, replace the drive. Sometimes the dvd disks you use are the problem. Make sure to buy a name brand.
I have been using Imgburn v 2.3.0.0 in Vista and it works very well. It is a no frills, non-bloatware program and it is freeware (donations are accepted). It burns the image to the HD and then it can write the image to a blank CD or DVD. I downloaded it from
HERE but there is also a website at imgburn.com. Anyways, my 2 cents if you want something just to copy disks. Vista pretty well does everything else.
