DVD viewing interrupted -- Media Center or Control Panel Problem?
New laptop system, with XP Media Center. While watching a DVD and doing no other tasks on the system, running the DVD for viewing does NOT register as "active" and so after about ?10 minutes (I didn't actually clock it, sorry), system goes into standby and I have to use fingerpad or mouse to bring display back.
I created a special setting in Control Panel for DVD playing -- in which NOTHING (hard drive, screen, etc.) EVER gets shut off, etc. (no hibernation, no standby, etc.), thinking this would solve the problem. It didn't. So I went back to Control Panel, "re-created" that setting and did a REBOOT thinking that like msconfig changes, a reboot was necessary for the new settings to work. Didn't help.
Is this a flaw/bug in Media Center, or a Control Panel issue? Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if this would also occur while viewing a DVD via the Windows player ... guess if that's true, it IS a control panel issue.
Thanks in advance.
