e-mailing a document

I am trying to e-mail a work resume. Do I zip it? Should I use a certain format? I don't understand how to do this without it taking so long to download. It's small, only one page, no pictures. A job resume. I have scanned it and don't know the best place to scan it to. Epson, AOL,explorer      thanks for listening......charlie

If you scanned and saved it, it's already an image.  See if you can convert the image file to .gif or .jpg.  This may decrease the byte size of your file.  You may also be able to optimize the image in one of those formats and thus reduce the byte size further.

Optimizing reduces picture quality while reducing the byte size of the image.  Here is a link to a supoosedly free optimizing tool if your own photo impressions program doesn't offer an optmizing option.

I notice that this has a 200k size limit so if your jpg image is larger than that you will need another untility - perhaps http://www.irfanview.com/  or send it attached to an e-mail to me and I will do it for you.  Just click on my handle and it will give your an e-mail addy.
