Editing Programs

Question

I am about to Purchase a Dell computer again! I am a videographer and edit wedding video's. I edit with Pinnicle and Adobe Premire. I will be editing with Avid Express in the near future..  This program requires XP Pro. It will not work with Vista!  Is there anyone using any of these editing progams, and can tell me what they think about dell computers with these programs.  People are telling to go with Vista but I know that Avid will only work with XP. If this is not the right forum can you tell me which one I better direct this one too! Thanks for your help! P.S. Is there any thing special I should make sure I get when I order my new system that will accommodate avid Express ?

'This program requires XP Pro. It will not work with Vista!'   As per your same post in the XP Forums, if you are positive that this program requires XP, then obviously you must order an XP system. I'm really not sure what it is you are asking???

The system requirements for Avid Express (pro) are here:   http://www.avid.com/products/xpresspro/specs.asp   So read those and make sure that the PC you order meets them (more trhan meets is better, as these are the minimum requirements; running most software on a system that just meets minimum requirements usually means it will work, just, but slow, or very slow).   Also look through the pdf files of workstations for models that they have rated as qualifying (some Dell PCs are mentioned).
