ehshell.exe error with media center edition

Question

recently while attempting to watch tv on my media center pc, i discovered that upon clicking on the Live TV button in media center i get a ehshell.exe error message. (below)

in order i get these error messages.....

first when i click on TV i get this error message

after clicking ok, i go to Live TV and get this error message

after clicking ok to that, i get this error message

after all that, media center crashes. i have all the available updates and tried the SFC /scannow run command.

i don't know what to do.

i am desperate.

please help.

i typed in "rundll32.exe setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection Freestyle 132 medctroc.inf"

as a run command (not sure what it does, got it from a website) and now the first error message does not come up.

it goes right to the ehshell.exe error. :-( help

Check this link from Microsoft:   http://support.microsoft.com/kb/820121/en-us   I recommend you try reset the media center once and see the results.   Click Start and then Run. Type the following into the Open field exactly as it appears: c:\windows\ehome\ehshell.exe /homepage:fr.welcome.xml /pushstartpage:true A Setup Wizard window appears. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the Media Center software settings.

i've checked that link a billllion times and it hasn't helped. i'm trying the run command now and i'll get back to you with the results.

i cant even open the run command. i get the same ehshell.exe error.

please help. how do i "reset the media center" as you said in your post?
