Hi
If you do not see it you have removed it low 0 did remove it !!
You can use the drivers CD that came with your PC to do the
Diagnostic !
The little drive is gone it was more like 30 megabits not 30 gigabits!
The D:\Recovery partitions is gone also !
IF any thing your PC will run a little faster because it is not there
so your OS starts from the center of the drive not from middle
or close to it the EISA Diagnostic Partition is first then the
D:\ Recovery drive is 2nd then the C:\ OS drive is 3rd after the other
that would make the drive a little faster you may not see it but
it would be faster because it does not have to go by the other partitions
to get to the OS !
My view on this !
Good Luck  !

No you do not need it on the hard drive it is on the cd
you can boot the cd and run the diagnostic test from it!
Good Luck

Oh!, I'm sorry I misunderstood you. Okay I understand now that in order to run the diagnostic programs you'll have to have the EISA partition on your HD. I thought you were saying that without the EISA partition that my computer would bootup quicker,I understand now. So it doesn't directly affect your physical performance it does as for as helping to diagnose different  problems that can hamper the functionality. I think I said that right.

I have one other question. When performing a clean install how would you go about initiating this partition when it comes in front of the C:\ drive? I believe this is the fun part.

Hi
No you do not have to have it on your Hard drive you can run it from the
blue Dell drivers & diagnostic CD !
It should boot faster but you may not be able to tell if it is faster or not !

The only way to get that partition back on the Hard drive is to clone it from
a drive that has the diagnostic partition !

If you do not have another drive that has the diagnostic partition it will not work!
If you still had the diagnostic partition on the hard drive you would boot your PC
when you see the Dell logo you would press F12 and it would take you to the
diagnostic program that is on the drive !
Your best bet is to leave it like you have it now and use your PC the way it is .
Good Luck!

Hi tetractius
Yes you can remove it but you would have to {all partitions} on the hard drive.
The C:\ partition will not move forward to the center of the drive and you would
end up with a real small partition that would not hole very much info.
Lick the OP did you would have to 0 the hole drive then reinstall your
windows again !
I would leave it on the drive it is only about 7 to 20 megabits how much info
could you store on the little bit of space !
Good Luck
