Error creating process

I have a Dell Dimension 8200, running Windows 2000 Pro and Internet Explorer 5.0. When I try to install Internet Explorer 6.0, I get an error message that says "Error creating Process S:"C:\Documents and Settings\Gregory Aurand\Desktop\ie6setup.exe">. Reason: The operation completed successfully.

I've had this message pop up several times over the past several months intermittently when I try to install software. Strange thing is, some software programs install seamlessly, and others trigger this error message. I replaced my hard drive a few months ago, and I reinstalled W2K from the Dell Reinstallation CD.

Any thoughts about what's causing this? I am upgrading Internet Explorer so that I can install the latest copy of Norton SystemWorks (it requires IE 5.5 or higher). Thanks for your help.

Hey Greg,

Where are you installing from?  That bolded portion says that the executable is on your desktop.  Clear your temp files and open your web browser.  click tools > windows update.  Then install IE updates from here.  Let us know if this works
