Error message at Windows XP Login Screen/One account not loading properly

Question

Hello all :)   After downloading and installing a BricoPack to make the PC look like Viata (and subsequently wanting to go back to standard XP ;) ) it was uninstalled, resoring all of the defult setting but the loginscreen properly (it still showd the image of the aura login that theBricoPack installed). Also, around the same time, we downloaded and ran a tweaking utility, but it reconfigured the login screen to not show any of the usual dialog (windows is shutting down...loading your personal settings....etc).   I then downloaded LogonStudio, in the hope that a new login screen *might* look better and/or fix the problem. while the login screen now loads it displays the following message:   Svchost.exe - Application Error   The instruction ''Ox7c918fea'' refrenced memory ''OxOOOOOO1O'' The memory could not be written.   Click OK To Terminate Click CANCEL to Debug   No matter what you click it still displays the login screen (and the same message appears after each boot-up)   The second problem is that one of the two user accounts is now taking up to a minute to load (the other only taking 20-30secs) before it displays the wallpaper/start menu interface). Even when the start menu and wallpaper are displayed, it hangs for around 10 secs before all the icons on the screen and in the taskbar load, during which the wallpaper temporary changes to white and then back again with the default picture and the icons.   Both accounts run as administratior. No adware/spyware/virus found in scans.   System restore is not available as the files were deleated to save disk space (it hadnt been used in the 3 years we had the computer!)   Is there any restoration/free tool available to fix/retore the login screen to its factory setting WITHOUT reinstalling windows? :(   Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :D

Well that's too bad that you disabled System Restore. The other procedure you might try is a Repair Installation.
