Error message help!

I've been having a problem with the Weather Channel's website.  As soon as their homepage comes up, I get a rather lengthy error message.  I get a box that says "iexplore" followed by the the following:

"Access violation at address 015E4B88 in module COMCAST~1.DLL Read of address 203AD4C 617CCF65."  A message of this type came on my screen at least 300 times in a row in rapid succession, kicked me off The Weather Channel's website, and then kicked me off Internet Explorer.  I contacted Comcast.net and they said the message meant that there are a number of corrupted files in Windows.  They advised me to contact Dell support.  I don't know how to tell which files are corrupt or how to correct the problem.  Any ideas, anyone?

Hi,

Well, if that is the solution

Go to Start>Run and type
sfc /scannow   (There is a space before /)
OK
You'll need your XP CD handy. That'll replace any corrupt or missing system files

If you have upgraded to XP Pro, use the Upgrade CD

My Dell Dimension came with Windows XP home already installed.  I can't find an XP CD in my package of discs.  What would it be labeled.  Also, would the Windows XP Pro Upgrade restore the missing or corrupted files and, therefore, solve the problem?

I have not yet upgraded to Windows XP Pro.  I am still running Windows XP Home.  Would the Windows XP Pro Upgrade disc solve my problem?

I`m afraid you will have to use an XP Home CD to run system file check.

If you have had the machine for more than a few months you should have received this disk

There is a picture of it here.  The wine coloured one.
