error message mania!! please help!!
i am really gettin annoyed with my machine lately... even though i have had it for quite a while now, just under 2 years in fact!
i have a Dimension 8200 with a _NEC CD-RW NR-9100A and have been using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.2 Basic since i bought the silly machine.
it has been working fine until recently some error messages have started to pop up, specifically:
"Application Error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application."
due to this i re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed Easy CD Creator and but now as well the Application Error message, the following error message is also displayed:
"Easy CD Creator: Cannot create Creator! Error returned 0x80040154"
anyone know the problem? (the solution to either error message would be appreciated)
PS. The 'Application Error' message usually pops up when i attempt to open any .EXE file namely AOL Messenger Setup, WinAmp setup, RealPlayer Gold setup etc. I have a separate message set up for this subject:

Please help!!

i did have that problem but i soon realised that it wasn't to do with ALL ".exe" files.
to be exact, when i tried to open the uninstall program of AOL Messenger (which is by the way called UNINSTALL.EXE or sumthing or other - but it is an .EXE file!) the error as described in the earlier message kept popping up so i just deleted the whole program, but the weird thing was what happened when i opened the file called "RealPlayerGOLD.exe"
the error message would pop up and so the installation of the Real Player Gold would not go ahead, but when i downloaded another copy and ran it, it worked perfectly fine so i don't know whats happened. i havent had any more problems with anymore ".EXE" files.
sweetiepietwo: referring to the error message that came up when i ran Easy CD Creator (ECC), thats another weird thing. when i ran ECC at first, the error message came up but after a few days of when i got annoyed with the machine and stopped using it, i started ECC no message came up and now its working fine again! sorry i cudn't be much help. maybe if you described what the message was and what problem your having it mite help.
