Error message on startup

I get an error message when my computer starts up. It shows up after everything has almost completely loaded. I have the background and most of the items have loaded up. This just occurred one day and I tried to reset to and earlier restore point but it hasn't helped and it only allows me to go back to the beginning of the month. What is it and how do I fix it?

Vostr 400, Windows XP, E4500, 2.20ghz, 3.25GB RAM

Try running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
Please download to your desktop Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
    • If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates,

manually download them from here
and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer,
copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes'
Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD and then copy it to the infected machine.

  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan"; then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checkedPhotobucket
    Click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Please copy the log and paste it into your next reply here, and let us know how things are running.
  • Depending on what shows in the log I will give additional information.

You're welcome, Ron. I hope MBAM can handle it, but there are probably vulnerabilities on the system, so I'll follow this and we'll get it cleaned up one way or another.

daemonu.exe appears to be related to the nvidia driver updater. Look on Startup tab in msconfig and uncheck daemonu.exe. Reboot and put a check in the box "don't show this again". That should put an end to that error.

Whether you have malware is something for Bugbatter to help you figure out

There are too many people with entirely differently issues in this forum thread, thus making it difficult to know who needs to follow which instructions on which system.

My reply was actually for the person with the error message regarding these files:

sent32.dll

ocavoherajoza.dll

I prefer to work one-on-one, so I will remove this topic from my subscriptions. If you need malware removal help please register and post at SpywareHammer where we can assist one person at a time. Thanks.

Uninstall the nvidia update service, or clean reinstall the driver deselecting that module during custom install.

Another option is just to disable the service in Start > Run (or Winkey+R) > services.msc

This files most often belongs to product NVIDIA Update Components and were developed by company NVIDIA Corporation. This files have description NVIDIA Settings Update Manager. This is executable file. You can find it running in Task Manager as the process daemonu.exe.
