Error Message Outlook Express
I recently purchased a new Dell Dimension with Windows XP Home w/:
1. Microsoft Works Suite 2005.
2. Outlook set as the default mail and news client under tool options.
2. Norton System Works 2005..
3. Norton Internet Security 2005 w/anti-spam and spyware.
4. Microsoft Firewall turned off.
5. Cable internet/email provider.
The system was set up 8/11/05 with my internet provider configuring the system for both internet and email use. All worked well until 8/24-25 at which time I started to receive a pop up message about 3-5 minutes into a new session that reads:
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot find the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
I can send and receive email fine until the message box appears. While the box is on the screen, I cannot receive or send mail. As soon as I click OK the box goes away and all works fine. I do not get the message error box again until I start another session by turning on the computer.. I have have had my internet provider check all configuration settings. They are
fine.

Outlook is not a part of Microsoft Works Suite. Your post refers to Outlook Express, which IS a part of Windows XP. If you have Outlook set as your default mail and news client, that may be the source of the problem since you do not have Outlook on your computer. Resetting the default to Outlook Express may eliminate the error message.
