Error Message Runtime

Question

Error Message - Visual C++ Runtime Library (don't know what this is) Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE  Application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Contact applications support team.  I cannot access the internet nor programs,control panel, etc. but can access e-mail.  This is a home computer I share with my husband who is not experiencing this problem.  If I shut down, access will come back for  a short time and then error message appears again.

Babs3, Uninstall the Google toolbar. That should correct the problem and reinstalling it has not caused other users to experience the error again.

I am getting the same error as stated here, but I do not have a google bar installed. Anyone know the solutions to this error?

I have the same problem. I can go under my user account and it works fine. But I try my kids and I get the Runtime Error Message. I have did the system restore, I have deleted their account and reinstalled it and I have removed the Yahoo Toolbar. Nothing works. Anyone out there to help?

I do not have Google on my toolbar unless you can tell me where to find it that I can't see.

This may be a longshot, but...

The Google toolbar seems to be the most common IE extension to cause this problem, but perhaps not the only one. I would make sure that all extensions are disabled.

In IE go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, Browsing section, and uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions", click Apply, then Okay, and reboot.

Alternatively, you could download the free Browser Helper Object (BHO) utility called BHODemon 2.0 from:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3550.html

and run it to selectively disable BHO's one by one, til you find the culprit.

I also had this frustrating problem (without any Google bar installed), but unchecking 'allow third party browser extensions' fixed it. I also 'cleared SSL cache' and deleted cookies and files under Internet Options.

Note: it is important to perform these fixes under *each* user's account.

I downloaded BHODemon and disabled the few unverified BHO's listed. This did not solve the problem. I then went to IE6 Manage add-ons and disabled a much larger list of unverified BHO's.

The only BHO's now active are ACROiehlpobject class

and the following browser extensions

Mcafe antiplishing filter

real.com

It now works !!!

I found that you could not have two users running sessions of IExplorer with the McAfee_Anti_Phishing_BHO.1 program running. The second user that tries to run IExplorer with Anti Phishing gets the run time error. Just use BHODemon to disable this in everyone's account.   To do this, I had to install BHODemon. Then set everyone's account as administrator, if they aren't already admin. You need this type of access to use BHODemon from each account. Then go into each account and use BHODemon to disable the Anti Phishing. Then you can reset the accounts to limited access as needed.

I reinstalled the google toolbar and do not have any problems.  I have removed Mcaffe from my system so if that was a problem it is not now.
