Error message while reinstalling Windows ME
First time reinstall of Windows ME. Followed guidelines for using Boot disc to delete primary dos partition this was accomplished. Tried to delete ext dos parition got message logical drive had to be deleted first. Check of logical partition showed there were none.Could not delete ext.
Booted from cd "For the installation of Windows ME" from Dell. Install proceeds to "Windows Me Edition setup 100%" sits there for 5+- minutes with cd drive fast blinking on and off then brings up error message"Setup has detected a corrupt setup(.cab) file. From there it shutsdown the computer.
Dell dimension l800r Pentium 3 800mhz 133fsb
128 ram sdram
Windows ME factory installed
20gb and 80gb harddrives
There is no operating system on hard drives at this time
Thanks for the help
