Error message will not stop
I have a problem with an error message. When I start the computer I get the following message:
“To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.
Name: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Publisher: Microsoft corporation”
When I close the message, I get enother one that says:
“Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close.”
It then offers to send an error report. If I see what data the error report contains, it says:
"EventType : BEX P1 : SVCHOST.EXE P2 : 5.1.2600.2180 P3 : 41107ed6
P4 : unknown P5 : 0.0.0.0 P6 : 00000000 P7 : 009996bc
P8 : c0000005 P9 : 00000008"
And in the technical information it says:
C:\DOCUME~1\USER\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERa4e3.dir00\SVCHOST.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\USER\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERa4e3.dir00\appcompat.txt
There are two folders (in the temp folder) that start with “WER” followed by some letters and numbers. The moment I say “don’t send”, one of the folders disappears and a new one is created that also starts with “WER”. And then I get the error message again. The error messages never stop. I have tried deleting all the “WER” folders but it doesn’t change anything. Is it a virus? I have virus protection up to date and I just run it. It didn’t find any. How can I fix it?
Another question:
Can I delete everything inside “C:/Documents and settings/user/local settings/temp” and “C:/Documents and settings/user/local settings/temporary internet files” without deleting something important for the computer? I have chosen “delete cookies” and “delete files” under the internet options tab of the internet explorer, but it doesn’t seem to delete the files in these folders.
Thanks for your help.

Osprey,
Thank you. I have tried many things and I have researched the problem with no luck so far. I'll keep on trying, something will eventually work. Thanks again.
