Error message: "Windows cannot load the locally stored profile"

I recently received this message, and have been able to create a new profile and move most of my documents to the new identity.  I cannot find, however, any pre-existing e-mails (i.e. in inbox, deleted items, items put in new folders, etc.)  Some of these emails are important, and I'd love to find them.  Not nearly as important, but quirky, my recycle bin from original profile and new profile are empty.  Any suggestions on finding email?  Thanks!!!!!

have you tried a system restore from safe mode to go back before the problem began

restart the system,

press f8 and choose safe mode

click

start > programs  >assesories > system tool >  system restore

and restore before the problem begane is a good start to restore things that have been lost

nlap,

If you are using Outlook Express locate the *.dbx files in the older profile (in C:\Documents and Settings\ Account name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{...alphanumerics...}\Microsoft\Outlook Express then open OE and go to File|Import|Message|Outlook Express 6 and point the import facility at that file. You must have Windows Explorer set to show hidden files and folders to locate the folder containing the messages.

Thanks for the info....I did the "restore," and everything is there.  However, now I can't "restore" to any new email received since before the corruption.  There's nothing there that's really important, but I'd like to merge them if there is anyway possible?

Also, since I'm restored to a time prior to the profile being corrupted, is it likely to happen again?  Thanks.

Thanks, folks....all seems to be well!!!  I usually have a geekman to do all of this for me, but he's on vacation.  Amazing what you can do if you try....especially with help from forum geeks!  Thanks a million.
