With a lot of different things happening or installed and apparently you have isolated the cause of the error.

I'd uninstall everything you've added, restart Windows and then install each item one at a time and make sure it works and Windows XP works OK before going on to something else.  A good idea is to also set (manually) a System Restore point before installing anything, in case it does cause system problems.

You also need to verify that everything you are installing is Windows XP compatible.  Zone Alarm is not a problem, and many people, including myself run it on Windows XP systems.  ZoneAlarm is probably the most used "free" firewall.  The Logictec keyboard probably is XP compatible, but make sure and if there are any software with it make sure it's XP compatible or that you use the XP version of the software.  As far as the sketchpad, the same way, make sure it's XP compatible.

This error comes up when I shut down XP - looking at the errror more closley it says that it is from my scetchpad tablet. I am going to uninstall it and reinstall.

I am also hanging up when I start XP with Zone Alarm opening with start up. I am going to uninstall and reinstall that also.

I tried to install a new key board (Logietech) with many extra key commands and I think that fouled thing up. Dell support had me do a repair reinstall of XP so I now have some 12 updates to put back in.
