hi, can you provide a bit more info? What were you doing when the stop error occurred, and was there anything else at all on screen, eg IRQ not less or equal than, or a file name?

Background:
My computer died on me. I get the following error "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system
You can attempt to repair the file by starting windows setup using the original CD-ROM. Select the 'r' at the first screen to start repair"

When I did the above instruction, ie boot from a CD-ROM. I got the error message which was rather long and had that at the end.

It did not have anything on IRQ. Any ideas ?

Thanks.
