Error Message
I am new to this forum and I hope I can find some help. When online, I continually get the message{Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close).
The error report content exception info is:
Code: 0xc0000005
Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x0000000000000000
Address: 0x00000000042c8955
The file appears to be:
C:\DOCUME~1\Jean\LOCALS~1Temp\129e_appcompat.txt
(THE 129e CHANGES EACH TIME I RECEIVE THE MESSAGE BUT THE REMAINDER STAYS THE SAME)
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sadie

Sadie,
Don't worry about the appcompat.txt file. That's the file that's sent to Microsoft when you are presented with the Send or Don't Send information to Microsoft regarding the error. I had the exact same thing happen this afternoon after doing a clean install of Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3 slipstreamed onto it. After I downloaded and updated Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 7, the problem disappeared.
All sorts of things can cause your type of problem. You may have malware, a corrupt system file or the web page you're viewing isn't constructed correctly.
If you are running Internet Explore 6, try this: Click on Start|Run. Type iexplore /rereg . Press Enter.
Let us know if this fixes your problem.
