errors, errors, errors

Question

Running dimension 4100, Windows ME    Two wks ago I started getting an error   (explorer has caused an error in unknown).  Explorer will now close.   I kept getting this message and I could not use computer.  At this time I was also getting several other errors like (error loading powrfrof.dll), a required .DLL file, winspoll.drv was not found)  I had someone look at my computer and they suggested trying to reinstall windows so we tried and when we go so far into the reinstall we got errors and worked  around them by basically skipping them.  He suggested I purchase new hard drive so I did and installed it. Reinstalled all software and computer was ok.      Computer worked fine until yesterday when I got this message when browing the internet (lexplorer has caused and error in MSHTML.DLL), these two messages I got when after I completed windows update and the system was udating its settings (Rundll32 has caused and error in ), (rundll has caused an error in Kernel32.dll).   Alot of these errors are dll errors.  I saw on a web page about dll error fixes like Pc Mighty Max is this something to think about?   I am about to pitch this thing in the creek. KJM0224,

Skip the software to solve DLL errors. Consider installing Windows XP. The 4100 I use for bench testing runs XP SP1a just fine with 512Mb of RAM. Since you apparently have your Windows Me disk, you can use the XP upgrade CD to do a clean install. XP drivers for the 4100 are available at www.support.dell.com.
