You must be trying to install Bluetooth communicator program for Motorola V500/V600 series. If so, connect phone to computer with cable (USB?). Let computer find device, insert CD if needed for device driver, and then run program.
When you say cabinet system, are you talking about something like CabinetWare, a cabinet design system for a cabinet shop? That program requires a HASP (Hardware Against Software Piracy) dongle for either the parallel port or USB port. Same rule applies as the Bluetooth program that gives the same error as your program. Your software is looking for a file located on a device other than your hard drive or CD. Name, manufacturer and version number of your program, as well as your version of XP would be helpful. If the program requires a HASP, it cannot see it until a driver is loaded for the dongle even if it is connected. I can give links for driver if you need such.
I am getting error 1324 upon trying to install Data Pilot Software for a Motorola phone. Error says that "the path to my documents contains an invalid character. My operating system is windows xp media center 2002 on a DELL DIM E520.
I was able to install on a 2nd pc with windows xp as operating system.

Why won't installation with media center?
How can I fix this error?
