exception code 0x2b4

I just bought a new Dell 9100 with Windows XP homen ed. and tried to run a proven application on it. The application ran without problems on a Dell notebook under Windows 2000. I recompiled it on the new computer under Windows XP and right from the beginning I get an operating systems error with the exception codes 0x2b4 and 0x2b5. This is a job stopper. Can anybody help or does anybody know what exception it is? I called Dell technical support, they did not know.
