factory backup or recovery bootable drive???

Hi

I have just received my new dell inspiron 15r special edition and looking into creating recovery drive if ever required. I have looked at a lot of videos on the internet and a lot of people seem to create bootable drives that will take them to the option to re-install and wipe the pc and start all over again. The dell backup of the factory image is also an option but don't know what one to do. What is the difference?

If I performed the first option will that take me to how the computer was at the start with all the dell pre installed software

what is the benefit to creating a much larger backup of the factory image through the dell recovery software than the first option.

I assume Windows 8. If so have a look at these videos here:

However personally I would advise also creating a backup with a program such as Acronis. See Step 3 of my Windows Reinstallation Guide:

thanks for the reply. Those videos helped.

If I did reset pc option from start up through a usb drive, will that also take it to factory settings. My question was what difference are the above methods compared to this method

Thanks
