Factory Image Restore
Quick question about Dell's factory image restore feature: Can it be used multiple times (i.e. it could be used this year if I am having a problem but also a few years down the line), or is it a feature that can be used one time only?
I have an Inspiron 1545 that was purchased last August, so is it safe to assume that since there is a recovery partition on my hard drive, I would be able to restore my computer to the factory image if I ever needed to?

As long as the Recovery Partition is undamaged and isn't overwritten somehow ( as in installing a new operating system) you would be able to use it as often as you like. Keep in mind that it does just as the name implies: It restores things to factory settings. Meaning, in part, that anything you have added-> applications, files, photos, music etc. will vanish. As well as all Windows updates. To truely restore the system to the way it is today or next year or whenever is to have the Restore Partition and a Backup of your pesonal files. To get any applications back you will need the installation discs also. Or to avoid all the pain of putting it back together you could use a program like Acronis True Image to clone your HDD to another HDD. If you have a cloned drive you can be back up and running in an hour or so.
