Have you tried looking this error up on Google?
See if the following results of a Google search helps you solve the problem:

Thanks for the info, but here's a dumb question! It appears that I need to run a scan of my registry for invalid registry entries, but as I can't log in to my PC, how can I download the scanner that I require?
Apologies, I'm not particularly PC literate !
